| Why do I need a Blade Runna?
Blade Runna automatically aerates your lawn as you mow. There is no extra effort.
Why does my lawn need Aeration?
-
Aerating lawns allows oxygen and water to penetrate the soil and get to the roots.
-
The spiking process allows water to more easily filtrate to greater soil depths which promotes a healthy root system and greater drought resistance. In short, soil is better drained.
-
This activity promotes healthy lawn growth, in most cases without any additional fertilizer.
-
Healthy lawns can better combat the intrusion of bindi’s, thistles and other pesty weeds, they simple struggle to survive in a healthy lawn.
Where do I need to use the Blade Runna aerating system?
-
Areas of lawn that need aerating will usually give off warning signals which include:
-
Patches of lawn worn bare of any grass due to heavy traffic.
-
A tendency for the lawn to yellow/brown quicker than other areas when dry conditions occur. This can indicate a lack of water infiltration into the soil and poor root development.
-
Areas of lawn that show poor growth rates and lack of vigour after mowing, may have compacted soil, thus creating an environment for poor root development.
How does it work?
-
Once Blade Runna is fitted to your mower (this will normally take 10-15 minutes) you simple get on with the job of mowing your lawn, no more or less frequently than you currently do.
-
As you mow, the hardened spikes/blades create slits in your lawn and soil. This allow ingress of oxygen and water (reducing run-off) and the exiting of carbon dioxide which while locked in your soil inhibits water uptake by the roots.
How else could I aerate my lawn?
-
You could hire or buy a commercial lawn aerator, which will likely cost you more in time and money than your one-off Blade Runna purchase.
-
You could also walk around your lawn with a pitchfork – best of luck with that one.
